Hi there, I'm Amanda. I live in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with my happy little blended family.
Pregnancy and childbirth were profound experiences for me. I had the perfect labor and delivery all planned out.....but what I got was an emergency c-section, a baby that wouldn't breastfeed, and terrible postpartum anxiety. As I reached out to other parents, I noticed a trend: people consistently wished that they had more information before giving birth and that everyone, including me, needed to talk about it. Over time, I became passionate about providing pregnant people with education, respect, and guidance through their journey. It's never what we expect, and we all deserve support along the way.
For 13 years I worked as a sexual assault advocate. Through this work, I gained skills in advocacy-based counseling, trauma informed care, hospital assistance, coping skills, and providing non-biased information & education about options. These experiences greatly inform my work as a doula. I enjoy helping people during critical times in their life and find great value in holding space for birthing people, both physically and emotionally.
When I'm not working or playing with my daughter, I'm a knitter, coffee drinker, novel reader, social justice advocate, feminist, and netflix marathoner.
